Shawn A.'s Story

Life: To One and All: We moved to St. Elmo, IL, in late August of 1994, to take care of my wife's mother. AJ, my wife for life, doesn't go by any other name . . . she use to race hotrods. Her mom wouldn't move to Long Beach, so, I did the right thing . . . she passed in August of 2003 at the age of 86. We live in a town of twelve hundred people, with eight churches and no bars - St. Elmo - IL. It's a town that is economically depressed, culturally deprived, and the wasteland of Rugby!! I coached, for free, a College Rugby Club, Eastern Illinois University, that made it to the National finals in the Spring of 2000 . . . stopped coaching them back in 2008 when the members of the Club became way to social, and on more than one occasion only had 4 guys show up for practice . . . told them they didn't need a coach but they did need a babysitter! I don't do the Midwest Rugby website anymore, it's mine, and I use to communicate to over fifteen thousand members through it, and through a weekly newsletter I sent out . . . e-mail me about anything you'd like to. My computer is like a new toy for me, and I love it! Of course, I'm just a big kid anyway. Creating Rugby websites must make me a little older than the age of three, which AJ thinks I am at times . . . wink, wink! I'm the owner of the Illinois Rugby Union website, and the Union President . . . I'm also the owner and Conference Commissioner of the Illinois Collegiate Women's Rugby Conference, and the Administrator of the Land of Lincoln Referee Society . . . you can Google them and each site web address should come up since I've been doing those for at least since 2014!
